That's not the way to do it in Audacity. Start by launching Audacity by double-clicking its desktop icon (or go via the Start button...All programs route). That will give you an "empty" Audacity window. Now in that copy of Audacity, do File...Import...Audio... and navigate to your MP3 file...

garbled, barely audible sound from speakers

... basically it is not a problem with Audacity as a program because I tried recording myself from my webcam mic and it works perfectly. I just need help on what setting I am missing to be able to hear my cassette audio through my speakers clearly.

Mettalic sound in Audacity - quite urgent

... did like 3.000 records. I'm exhausted because of them. It took me so much time to prepare those audio sounds. I don't want to make them again. Any help? :| Btw do you hear that mettalic sound too? Is it really so bad?

If you're comfortable using the command line you could use SoX . I don't use Macs, so I'm not the best person to ask, but I think iTunes can encode MP3s. I don't know if it supports OGG, but you could use Audacity to decode the OGG files to WAV or AIFF, then iTunes to encode them as MP3. If your ori...
