Re: Help! Audio quality degraded & can't be repaired

No. The sound quality is equally bad when I play the mix within Audacity. It sounds the same regardless of what I do. But the original wav files (which I imported) sound perfect. And my understanding is that these imported files are linked within the aup file rather than copied into it. I must have ...

Re: Bulk conversion from “.aup” projects to the FLAC format

I do this a lot but needed to create a custom build of Audacity. Look at this thread:
http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 21&t=38341
for details. If this sounds like something you want to explore let me know and I will help you.

Re: DD 5.1 cutting

I think the problem has more to do with the format conversions than it has to do with Audacity. These people will probably be able to help you better:

On that page, click on "Quick Links" and select "More".
Also check out their forum.

Re: Help! Audio quality degraded & can't be repaired

I fully understand that the original mp3 can't be retrieved. But why can't I re-create a new mp3 (with the correct settings)
by extracting from the original Audacity project? Has the aup file been irretrievably damaged by exporting the original mp3?

Re: Problems while recording!(Cant describe in english)

... the built-in mic just was too sucky. Still interesting since I haven't had that problem using the built-in outside Audacity. Still, thanks for the help, and you're the boss!

Re: Help! Audio quality degraded & can't be repaired

MP3 is a lossy compression format. In order to achieve a small file size, some of the data is thrown away and the remaining data is squashed together as tightly as possible. The discarded data cannot be recovered. The greater the compression amount, the smaller the file, but the more data is discard...
