Didn't reply to a couple of Steve's points.
The sound is bubbly - on interviews / sound-bytes but singing all seems OK.
There's no similar distortion on any of the other stuff I've done,
but all the previous ones were all recorded in wav. As mentioned, this was
recorded in mp3 by mistake.

Please look in the Audacity "Help menu > About Audacity" and tell us the exact version of Audacity you are using (for example 1.3.15) The final digits are important. Which version of Windows are you using? At what point did it go ...

I record a file from a cassette recorder with Audacity. But when I do: File> Export, some times I can't obtain a MP3 or a WAV file. I only get files without format. I'll be very gratefull if you can help me

When I choose settings the program will automatically switch off. Without any information about the error.
Previously, it was the same. Except that when exporting to mp3. I suspect that this is something of an encoder.
Reinstall doesn't help.

... the file to "audacity.cfg" (without quotes) then launch 1.3.14. That .cfg file disables VST and Audio Unit plug-ins which may or may not help. Is Pro-53 Native Instruments an Audio Unit or VST plug-in? Presumably you want to keep using that? Gale
