... and the footnotes as one entity and do the double (Left and Right) track, as you suggested. That might be the simplest. Thank you for your help! I will pursue your suggestions and see what I can figure out.

Problem doing multitrack recording
... a snatch of the first track as the recording stops!!! Even more frustratingly, it sometimes works (about once in every 20 attempts) If anyone can help fix this, it will be much appreciated! Steve

... however if you are recording silence then software playthrough (which sends the input to the output with a delay) will also be silent. If you need help reconfiguring Audacity please let us know how you are connecting the turntable to the computer and which audio indicator says that audio is playing. ...

Dear Madam or Sir:
I recorded a singing group on my RCA digital recorder, and, frankly, one of the loudest singers was quite dreadful. Is there a way for me to use Audacity to edit out his voice, and not anyone else's from the same track?

... should offer to amplify by +2 dB. Nope, Amplify is proposing 9.8db. There are no spikes, and no clipping warning when I amplify by 9.8db. Would it help if I try to post the file?
