If tests 7 and 8 are identical as it appears then it seems no conclusion can be drawn except that it may sometimes help to have audio playing and to access "Sound" before opening Audacity.

its a older plain turntable, and pretty sure its a line in with the recording devices stating this, with a quick check of microsoft to help verify it, and yeah, still pretty sure its a line in.

Line In Stereo Fault
Hi,
Been messing around with trying to hook up a turn table to my laptop's Line In port with some problems though have solved majority of them thanks to other peoples posts. However, it will only record in mono, even when set at stereo. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
