Re: Reattach tool menu
... about 6 times hoping the problem would be rectified. Not sure if this is relevant but I am using a Mac OS X (Version 10.7.3). Appreciate your help. It would be great to be able to use audacity again. Thank-you. Are you sure you are using Audacity 2.0.0? Look in Audacity menu > About Audacity. ...

Re: Help with Audio Levels
We are using clipping as a test device. Under no circumstances should you be clipping or in any way overloading the sound channel. That damage sounds terrible and it's permanent. Never make the red recording meters go all the way to the right or the blue waves all the way up and down.

Re: Help with Audio Levels
Koz, I think I will try that one idea you just said. Previously, I had not changed the direction I talked to. However where it says "BACK" it is directly facing away from me. I will try and move the mic around and see if that might be the issue. I really am of the opinion now that you said...

Re: Help with Audio Levels
And just to cover another not-so-obvious operational item. From the Submittal Sheet: The AT2020 is a side-address fixed-charge condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern. That means although it looks like you should be talking into the round end of the microphone, you should be talking into ...

Re: Help with Audio Levels
Steve,
That isn't happening. Just as you mentioned I have everything setup like that. I do know for 100% that it isn't the internal mic on the laptop that is being picked up, because when I get closer to the external mic, the audacity software is seeing a spike in the db level.

Re: Help with Audio Levels
Ignoring Audacity for a moment, with the microphone plugged into mic input 1 of the PreSonus Audiobox, phantom power switched on, Channel 1 input level turned up to maximum, you should be able to make the channel 1 "clip" light flash on (indicating that the signal level is too high). Does ...

10-15 second static sound during recording
... never get it to appear by itself. It always comes over vocals or music. Doing noise removal would eliminate music from the mix. Can I get some help. I am not sure if its the computer, the external soundcard, serato, my turntables or the software itself.

Re: Help with Audio Levels
PGA,
I am using a PreSonus Audiobox USB interface. I think, not 100% sure, but, everyone is speaking about the same thing, even though they don't state the full name.
