I'm currently using 1.3.14 version on a Windows 7 laptop and I was wondering if there was any simple way the sounds I've recorded could be transcribed with an add-on or something? It would really help if there was one

Laptops tend to have built-in microphones, deskside machines tend not to.

You can open Audacity and mess with the Device Toolbar. If it doesn't say "Built-In Microphone." then you probably need to buy something.
