Hi there,
Just used audacity to record one of my 1 hour lectures. But when i went to open it up, 4 diff folders have been created and my recording has been turned into many 6 second clips in each of the 4 folders.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Re: Help in recovering mis placed Data Files from a project
Koz, I think you overlooked one, possibly vital, point. Herb used the phrases "We are using..." "We discovered...". Does that mean this is a multi-user system with a shared drive or folder that two or more users can write into? If so, do these Audacity project files exist in that...

BTW, when you say Clipfix is slow... how slow is slow? The first half of the progress bar goes really quick then it almost seems to freeze - is that normal? On my computer processing runs (walks) at about half real-time - I'll do a test... Processing a badly clipped 5 minutes stereo track takes aro...

Re: effects menu item text is not visable
... file might that be? Do you mean the "lame" and "FFMpeg" software? If you install Audacity clean from first birthday and don't help it, it will arrive with a slate of built-in effects all by itself. Do Not Reinstall Audacity. You can "reset" Audacity without doing ...

Re: Help in other languages
all the links in the navigation bar on the left side will throw you back to the English manual. Oh dear, that's bad, but it does not invalidate the idea. It could still work if other language manuals were set up as a wiki family: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Multilingual_MediaWiki#Language_prefere...

vintage cassette tape keeps stopping on one side.
... that it began doing this back in the early 90s. I'm not an expert on cassette tape mechanics. What may be the possible cause of this problem? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated because i want to digitize these sounds before the tape eventually deteriorates. Thanks all!!!!!

Thank you so much, I'll have a go at that this morning and see what the overall picture is then!

Thanks again
