And I assume pressing Stop does not help? Does File > Exit bring up the choice to save the project? If you have never saved this as a project, I would force quit Audacity in Windows Task Manager, don't restart Audacity then follow the procedures ...

How are you getting sound into the computer? Is it a laptop?

Edit > Preferences > Quality to 44100, 16-bit (not 32) > OK.
Edit > Preferences > Devices to Stereo > OK.

Try that to help the Sound Device error.

What operating system are you using?
Could you copy and paste the output from the Audacity "Help menu > Audio Device Info..."

... mixer (Tascam US-600) but when I connect it to Audacity only the first 2 channels record - I'm getting no sound from inputs 3 and 4. Can someone help me activate all 4 channels? I am sure it is a simple solution but I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
