... and drivers provided no solution, I would try a system restore to before you installed Audacity 2.0.0 (or to before then). If that did not help, I would disconnect the internet, exit Avast (not the firewall) and other security programs and see if that made Audacity run. Anti-virus and anti-spyware ...

need help separating songs ina continuous recording..I'm new

I am using db tech cassette player I have the cassette player hooked onto the computer via USB, I start the cassette player same time as pushing the record button on audacity. I hope this answers your question If you need any more detail let me know

padevchooser is not particularly important. The important thing is that installing padevchooser will also install PulseAudio Volume Control (pavucontrol). The main benefit of padevchooser is that it gives convenient access to pavucontrol (but pavucontrol should also be available in the applications ...

Have you installed pulse audio device chooser? You may actually be recording from a monitor of the internal mic or similar. Before that trick I was actually doing just that, i.e. record from the internal mic disguised as pulse. padevchooser is not available to openSUSE but I installed it now to Fed...

Wow! I can't believe my ears and eyes! Stereomix now appears in my Devices Toolbar AND the recording is perfect! Thanks PGA. I did try it in another CD player and it played just fine, so I'm guessing that I have players that are not compatiable with the burned CD. Since I won't have a chance to test it until the day of the show, I guess I'll have to take my chances!
