There is no "light" version of Audacity.
For Windows Vista you want "Audacity 2.0 installer (.exe file, 19.8 MB, including help files)" from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows

Novice Question
I have edited an audio file and 'saved as' "first Edit".
When I try to open it Audacity gives the messages; could not find------ then it says could not open..... .
The is an Audacity file and is set o open with Audacity.

That's peak overloading on the cellphone (or wireless phone) system. Ordinarily, that would kill your interview, there is one tool that might help, the De-Esser.

Can you explain why you want to use the microphone in Skype and Audacity at the same time then we may be able to help you better. With Windows 7 : Audacity uses Microsoft sound mapper and Skype the USB microphone device. So I would like to know how to do a similar thing with GNU/Linux. ...

Audacity can use the pulse device under ALSA host (look in Audacity's Device Toolbar). Normally you can use PulseAudio Volume Control ...
