"it is not writeable or the disk is full" You may be using an invalid name. Watch out for "special" characters. a-z, A-Z, 0-9, - _ and <space> are safe. Other characters such as .,!"£$%^&*()_?/... can cause problems. Also watch out for weird characters in the metadata (...

... "Temporary File Location"? Does that folder exist and do you have write permissions? Is there an option to use RAM (cache)? Open "Help menu > About Audacity" What does it say for the full version name and number?
