Basically I was recording, I paused, and when I began recording again it created a new track. On this new track the audio is choppy and echo-ey. How do I get it back to normal if possible?

i have got audaciy, the two rcas are correctly plugged into my mixer and the output jack on my laptop and seems everythings fine on the program but when im pressing recording it doesnt record!
please help!!

Which version of Windows?
What sort of microphone and how does it connect to the computer?
How are your headphones connected to the computer?
Do you know what sort of sound card you have?

I cant hear my mic and music at the same time I cant hear myself what should I do for the input, outputs?
