Set up your Snowball mic according to the instructions: http://www.bluemic.com/snowball/#/support/ Then open Audacity and you should see a USB option in the recording section of the Device Toolbar http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/device_toolbar.html Select the USB option as the recording device....

Really need HELP setting up Audacity
I am using (first-time) Audacity version 2.0.2 on my desk-top which has Windows XP (also using a SnowBall , Blue, USB microphone to record voice). Need help with settings because can't get anything to record and can't hear anything on play-back. Thanks.

Drag-select a portion of the show with noise only. No voices. Effect > Noise Removal > Profile.
Then drag-select or just select the show you want to clean and Effect > Noise Removal > Set the Sliders > OK.
That's the two sentence version of Noise Reduction.

You have two problems with that clip. There is hum/buzz from possibly a bad microphone cable and there is also hiss from possibly a bad microphone preamplifier.
