Which version of Audacity do you have? (look in "Help > About Audacity" for the version number)

I have installed Auducity succesfully (I hope) but when I try to record any input (radio, disc etc) only the right hand chanel will record. No stereo . Is there a balance control or something similar?
Please help with geting the left chanel to work as well
