Re: Help please! Trying to amplify a very tiny cat meow.

I recorded with the microphone of a USB headset into Windows 7 Sound Recorder... I ended up doing a 20db amplify followed by using Noise Removal to get a Noise Profile of a small part of it and then running Noise Removal over the whole thing. I still get a bit of noise behind the sound, but it's muc...

That's Reddit that likes cats.

Did you already try to noise reduce those samples? How did you record? Exactly. Microphone, Connection, Computer, Versions, etc. It sounds like you have one of two serious problems depending on how you respond.

Trying to run my bass directly into Audacity.

Help please! Trying to amplify a very tiny cat meow.

Hi everyone!

I recorded a couple cat meows, but I'm not sure how to amplify them without creating a lot of weird noise. Any tips?
I attached the sound files since they are tiny. And a picture of the cat. Because you like cats.

Thanks,
-Ari

Re: me again- Losing sound qaulity when exporting to MP3

MP3 encoding doesn't change the volume. If you are loosing quality , a better quality setting (higher bitrate) should help. MP3 is lossy compression, so you always loose some theoretical quality and you can get small changes in the volume peaks. But the overall volume should stay ...

Re: Equalization and linear frequency shifting

I don't know that frequency shifting is going to help a lot. Human voices generally fall into the telephone effect -- 300Hz to 3000Hz. Your hearing is still good to AM radio -- 20Hz to 5000Hz. You may run into the same problems that people trying ...
