Audacity Forum

Look at the "Audio to buffer" setting in Edit > Preferences: Recording. What is it set at? Try increasing it to a higher number.

If that doesn't help, reinstall Audacity and choose the option to "Reset Preferences" in the installer.

You only need wxWidgets installed for building Audacity from the source code.

I've already got a working version, 1.3.12-Beta running fine but wanted to upgrade. Running urpmi audacity just tells me I've got that package already installed. WxWidgets 2.9 is not currently supported. Audacity uses WxWidhets 2.8 (preferably 2.8.12).

Probably the easiest way to get a working Audacity installation is to install Audacity with your package manager.
