Please check which program you are using. Audacity 2.x does not create BAK files. You may have an old version of Audacity, Look in "Help menu > About Audacity" to confirm that it is Audacity and check the version number. The current version of Audacity is 2.0.2 and it is available ...

There is a Leveler effect that might help. You can also try some dynamic compression (Compressor effect). Or, there is an Envelope Tool that allows you to adjust & fade-up & down the volume in different parts of your file.

Underscore and dash are the only unconditionally safe punctuation marks. Even dash can have compatibility issues if someone produces a hyphen because they think hyphen and dash are the same. I disguised your email address. It's dangerous to expose it on the forum. We get a lot of people wanting to send you Spam and unwanted email. You may be better served with the built-in microphone on your laptop than trying to use a cordless phone as a microphone. Phones tend to have ratty microphone...
