You've not said which "GNU/Linux/Unix-like" OS you are using, but Audacity is available in the repositories for most Linux distributions, so just installing with the package manager is usually the easiest option.

Oh I had just been using the same audacity that had been on my computer, I did not know there was a new release.

USB audio interface recording levels

Probably this http://web.audacityteam.org/vst/ but more to the point why are you compiling it? Audacity 1.3.8 and later do not need VST bridge. The current Audacity release is 2.0.3 ( http://audacityteam.org/download/source ) .steve wrote:What source code are you trying to compile?

Am I correct in assuming that even though the Export category is called "Other uncompressed files", exporting to the 4-bit ADPCM WAV format (as you describe) will result in "compression" similar to that claimed by Olympus? ADPCM is not "compressed" in the same sense as...
