I have checked the Tascam, It appears that it will let me export individuals tracks. i will try that and see if it fixes my problem. Thank You

I am having this problem with any recording, not just overdubbing. It just started recently, and appears from both mic to mixer to computer input and mic to mixer to computer input. Reccording through the laptop mic directly to Audacity does the same thing. Help?

To be honest, the voice has been converted from a cassette to mp3 by someone and the cassette goes back to 35 years ago. But I am pretty sure that the speech was inside a mosque let's say 20m*20m*10m.

Okay I finally fixed it. I uninstalled it, downloaded another 2.0.3 installer and checked "reset preferences" Thank you audacity! Can't wait for the next Update! Well done, that was the correct fix. I think Audacity was trying to write to a temporary directory it could not write to. Reset...
