Re: documentation

The current version of Audacity is 2.0.3. You can check which version you have by looking in the Help menu > About Audacity. If you have an older version it is highly recommended to update (see here for instructions: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Installation_and_Plug-Ins#exe) ...

Re: Audacity MP3 Export iTunes Settings

Yes, it's a single channel mono track. Thanks for your help. Just like to do things the easiest way possible. I will keep using iTunes for the export to MP3.

... reported as "bugs" would of course not be any such thing and then we would not even know the operating system the user was on to try and help them. Alternatively, bug reports can be sent to our feedback address . Thanks again for the report. Gale

Types of MP3?

... Honda player plays some mp3, just not all). I don't want to buy a new player for a car that will be traded in in a year or two. Can Audacity help with that? Is there a way to convert my itunes mp3 to a version that all/most CD players will play? What should I try? Thanks.

Re: help getting rid of buzzing on audio

I've been looking for a way to get rid of the crackles that remain in the silent parts of the sound. I've tried click-removal, but it seems to fail completely, even with extreme values. It now came to my mind that I've already written a plug-in for extreme click sounds. I've modified it to work with...

Re: help getting rid of buzzing on audio

If I understand you correctly, Robert, you want me to run the second script and then run the first one? When I did that I got lots of sound drop outs (I also tried them in the order you wrote them and got the same drop outs. Kind of like it was too in the red and shorting out). I then tried the firs...

Re: Recording a Narration

... Audiacity has a reverb effect, or there are all kinds of reverb plug-ins avalialbe. Some (dynamic) compression in post-production should help to ke a consstantly-strong sound. (It's a good idea to normalize the volume after any effects too.) The Levelator might be worth a try too.

Re: help getting rid of buzzing on audio

I renamed my dull-sounding but crackle-fixed file, sorry. Sorry, the code was indeed for mono sounds, And there's a wrong step-size, thats why it speeds up. Here's the correct version: (defun noise-red (s) (snd-avg s 50 1 op-average)) (multichan-expand 'noise-red s) This sounds a reasonably good com...

Re: Muddy Sound When Recording In Audacity

... HP computer w/ Beats Audio and Audacity just do not like each other, and I've wasted far too many hours on trying to resolve this. Thanks for the help from users though.
