Poor recordings/ environmental noise due to microphone input
... record sources that audacity will recognise that doesn't include the microphone input and just the audio stream from whatever source I choose? Any help or advise very much appreciated Many thanks

Thank You. I take it the recording is just you keying in DTMF tones in which case the wav file works but the wavex doesn't. Thanks for all you help.

Audacity crashes every time on startup
I'm using a Macbook pro and I had an older version of Audacity (1.3??) which worked fine. I just downloaded the 2.0 DMG and the zip and they both crash every time I try to launch them. I running OS 10.6.8. Any help would be appreciated!!

... to playback its still the same poor sound. I played recording in mp3 and wav and still the same. This is just out of the box If anyone could help me get a good quality sound if would be very much appreciated thanx mrdon

Does beep work on your machine Setting BeepFileName in audacity.cfg does not help either. "Hardware beep" works on my machine but the "beep" that Audacity uses has nothing to do with that it is a wxWidgets function that just plays a sound; ...
