Re: Thanks for the help
least of my concerns. Actually, the most of your concerns is you can't plug anything into the Mic-In of your laptop except a microphone. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/computerAnalogMicrophone.jpg The connection is usually mono, not stereo and it's sensitive enough to pick up all the electrical...

Re: Karaoke, Rotation, Panning & more
... think the isolation is excellent but equally I think this will still be very hard to use for most unless we can tweak the presentation and add help screens (or remove everything except isolation and removal). Who is it intended for ? For Isolation/Removal: Parameter = Stereo Field Rotation ...

Re: New to Audacity. Help beginner create a 22khz 10 sec to
Wow, that's some to chew on for a while. I'll give it a go. I am first going to try the digital dogsitter since it's so dead simple. Just put a .wav file in a folder, dogsitter queues it up, set the gui voice/bark response threshold (he's pretty ear splitting so with a properly positioned mic nothin...

I hope so as I love Audacity and this is the only one that gives me this problem. I can load up any mp3 file and run, edit, ...

Re: New to Audacity. Help beginner create a 22khz 10 sec to
One quick note, you can't stop and start tone groups like that without humans being able to hear ticks as each one starts and stops. AM/FM radio theory, modulation hoo-haa, etc. Fade each tone in and out should get rid of that. Effect > Fade-In, etc.

Re: New to Audacity. Help beginner create a 22khz 10 sec to
You might be able to jigger Overdubbing to do that... What a strange idea - I had to try it :P Yes you can. Disclaimer: doing this may not be a good idea. Use your own discretion. What you need: 1) One track that contains the required playback sound. IMPORTANT: The sound must not be continuous - th...

Re: New to Audacity. Help beginner create a 22khz 10 sec to
Oh, Audacity doesn't do much in real time and Record plus Play is one of those. You might be able to jigger Overdubbing to do that... I don't know if you can perform Overdubbing and Timed Recording at the same time.

Re: New to Audacity. Help beginner create a 22khz 10 sec to
You may have 22KHz but you are listening to the distortion of your sound system not being able to handle it. If you could hear it, it would sound like a very quiet, delicate air-escaping hiss. We had a very tall, young engineer at a radio station that could detect the presence of 19.2KHz. It didn't ...

Re: Audacity as an aid to Harmony Singers
Hi Robert Thanks very much for all your help. I didn't know about the import multiple tracks in 1 go feature; that's a real Godsend. I've been doing them 1 by 1. I've got MP3 output set to 128Kps; is that about right? On MP3 export options, can ...
