Exports some channels of a multi channel WAV as silence
... 4 of which are silence but channels 4 and 6 have the audio assigned from the channel mapper during export. What am I doing wrong? Hope you can help.

... find it to be well suited for audio use. Perhaps it is because Puppy is so lightweight that it does not have "optional" packages that help with efficient audio streams. I subsequently switched by old and under powered computer to Debian with Xfce and Jack, which then handled audio ...

You should try another test without the foam stocking over the microphone. I think part of my correction was to make the foam go away. You should be doing that.

The background is suspiciously quiet. Did you put a noise gate on the sound before you posted it?

Microphone Won't Produce Sound in Audacity
I'm using an Apogee Duet 2 and I have selected the device in preferences but now I can't get the sound to register in Audacity. When I click record and play into the mic, no sound is picked up.
