Yes, you saw where I was going with that. The original system couldn't find the FFMpeg libraries.

On the drive thing, we need two numbers: Drive Size and Amount Used. For example, "I have enough" and "There is plenty" are not good answers.

How much free disk space on your C: drive?
Is there rapid disk activity when Audacity freezes?

I am, by no means, a software developer. I used Audacity on my previous computer that was running Windows XP and never had any issues. Thanks Gale, That is not any different from any choice of save or save as. I know you assumed that I didn't know the difference but that is not what I was questioning. I just don't think I need several different backups of my project. I just wanted one so I wouldn't have to repeat what I have to do...
