As in another very recent post, Audacity is a general audio production program, so yes, staring at it the first time can be a little scary.

How are you planning to get the sound of the exhaust into the computer? Audacity can be dark gray magic, but microphones can be seriously black.

That means you have the Hybrid wired wrong and you're sending the mixer show down the phone line instead of one of the AUX busses. I have Audacity 2.0.4 and Mac 10.6.8. I made a recording and saved it in a folder in Music. It doesn't open. I can only access it in Audacity recent files. Then when I export it as an MP3 and play it in itunes it is blank. Please help!
