Many downloaded music files are already MP3, so why are you converting MP3 to MP3? Are you using the same filename as the original to save the conversion? Koz

I've already downloaded a few songs and exported them as mp3 files. I have Lame already downloaded. When I logged back onto my computer now it doesn't export the file as an mp3. The exported file shows up where I saved it but it hasn't converted it at all. What am I doing wrong?

... double-click in the first (uppermost) track to select it, then File > Export Selection, the music in that first song is out of order? Also look at Help > About Audacity. What three numbers do you see there for the Audacity version number? Gale

i already was 0.0 so that doesn't help. Not trying to be rude with that and sorry if it came across that way. It was deselected. If Software Playthrough is deselected in Audacity then Windows is playing the recording through. Are you on Windows ...
