My audicty will not record te music from Vanbasco i
My Audacity 2.0.4 will not record music from Vanbasco. I have used an older version and it worked fine. Can you help. I love sing every day and have been for several years. I have a brand new Toshiba laptop. Just can't figure it out. It's like the voice trumps over the music. But ...

Re: VST library is not found
... is because you have enabled CleanSpeech Mode in the Interface Preferences. But you must remove 1.3 and install 2.0.4 instead, because we will not help you with the 1.3 version any longer. So, open the Plug-ins folder in your installation of 1.3 and copy any plug-ins that you added to Audacity ...

Re: Need Help to Record from Home Telephone to PC
I need to come back to this. Yes, those are the most likely to work. They use the network (phone company terminology) inside phone to split the voices, and yes, I would expect that to work, except mine didn't because of severe hum and buzz problems. This was a sure bet when you had to rent the phone...

... probably remember more of the plug-ins if they got onto the Wiki. Gale No problem. I actually want to rebuild this plug-in implementing the new help system of the 2D Stereo Tool that we have loosely agreed on. There are also some speed improvements pending (especially on Linux).

Re: 2 Tracks Recorded on top of each other - HELP
If you have overdub on and find that recording the second track recorded the first track as well as what you were recording, then are you recording from the correct input in Device Toolbar ? You would get the first track bleeding into the recording of the second if you were recording from stereo mix...

Permissions
I'm a longtime user of 1.3 on Win7 but today I installed ver 2 and I can no longer save to the folder I've been saving to since, well forever as the same user.
I checked my permissions and shares and cannot find a way to defeat this. Can anyone help other than to tell me to change the folder?

Re: "Stereo Mix" missing from Dell Win7 64
... desktop has Stereo Mix and the laptop does not. Does not having Stereo Mix make a difference? I was hoping someone from Audacity would be able to help. It seems like a pretty straight forward issue for them but for low level users like me who only record the sound from the computer without using ...

Re: 2 Tracks Recorded on top of each other - HELP
Do you have two blue wave collections one above the other? (Illustration). If you have scrambled sound tracks, you could have stuck "Overdubbing" on by accident. That will create summary mixed tracks and it can be a little startling if you're not expecting it. Audacity > Edit > Preferences...

... but it would be good to know how to configure Audacity to do this as well as getting Sound Recorder working. This is a conversation, not a help desk. Koz
