ONLY LEFT CHANNEL RECORDS

recording vynil lp on audacity using windows 7
I am recording from a record player. All goes well until I try to record the second side of the record or add a new side to the original recording. I think I tried to do the right thing but it doesn't seem to work .. Help - I must have missed seeing something

Found out what the problem was. A noisy pc battery charger. Unplugged the charger while recording. Spikes are gone. Thanks for the help.

... type of situation I may increase the sensitivity up to about +8 dB and reduce the reduction to around 8 dB. Reducing the sensitivity control can help to make the effect less aggressive, though personally I find that reducing the "Noise reduction (dB)" control does this better.

... either. Does the 1818VSL appear in Windows controls panels as an Audio Device? If you can't get it that far, then Audacity will not be able to help you. Audacity can only use sound provided by the computer/Windows. Koz
