... is that it's then in flash (?) format so if you download it you can't then burn it to a CD to listen to off PC. Thanks so much for all your help.

... the second label there is no audio, so the exported file has zero length. This is not a known problem and I've not been able to reproduce the issue. First thing, check in "Help > About Audacity". It should be Audacity version 2.0.5. If not, please update from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ If you re-open the Audacity project, ...

... come across the Xonar Essence STX before on this forum and as Shaky wrote it has its own control panel that needs to be set up correctly. I can't help much with the Xonar control panel as I don't have a Xonar, but the Xonar manual will hopefully help you.
