UPDATE:

I succeeded to solve the problem. I uninstalled Audacity completely and removed any traces of the program from the PC. Made a fresh Install and now everything is fine.

Just to take the obvious first. Audacity looks for microphones when it starts. Restart Audacity with the headset plugged in.

Thanks...tried but no go...just doesn't start. The Speakers are selected (Creative SBX-Fi) after rescan and when I press record, it looks like it's going to start but the cursor just sits there flashing. There is a free vst plugin called Lumonix LFX-1310 that has some lofi effects in it. It has a basic eq and an effect called LP Noise which adds vinyl record pops and hiss. It also has an effect called Crusher that can produce lofi type effects.

I have just installed a PP400 Preamp between my RCA LAB1200 turntable and my Pioneer sound system. When I play an LP, the speed is too fast. Is there a way to adjust the speed on this turntable?
