I cannot get a full 4,322KB (18 minute) recording to upload on Audacity 2.0.5. It only uploads 25 seconds of it. I am using Windows 8 and obtained Audacity by the zip. Please help ASAP!!!

If the correct drivers don't help, look at the "Audio to buffer" setting in Audacity's Recording Preferences and buffer settings in Scarlett if you can access buffer settings.

Thanks Steve, only just found your reply ages ago, sorry. Thanks for trying to help. Do you mean if I buy a UCA 202 soundcard, or similar, and plug it in the new laptop, then plug in the digital piano in the input socket, then record off the piano via Audacity, ...

There are some USB soundcards that will accept a digital input (thus avoiding the need to go from Digital => Analog => Digital with possible data losses). My old Edirol UA-1EX does that, that's one of the reasons I bought it for my MiniDisc transfers - unfortunately it is no longer manufactured, tho...
