... you didn't do anything to that during this testing period. As a useless aside. Some soundcards have a "[X] 20dB Mic Boost" feature to help with weak microphones -- now that it's too late. Koz

It may be necessary to scan the whole effect list. External plug-ins have sometimes "VST" or the manufacturers name in front of it.

You could try Effect > Equalization > Telephone filter. That one is brute force and doesn't depend on anything else.

It seems that way, yes.
Our tools require that you be able to recognize the voice. If you can't do that up front, then that's the end of the story.

Upon further inspection, I did find at least one distorted "s" problem with sibilance which leaves me even more interested in getting "lisp" working.

Thanks. It is a cell phone recording. Seems that if the background noise could be silenced the dialogue could be tweeked to an understandable level.
