Thanks for that Gale. I read about Sound Finder in another thread and it seems to be very reliable at finding where the sound ends. So using that, and setting it to leave one second of silence at the end, I'm able to quickly see where to cut.

... Mix standard unit. It was inactivated so I activated it and then everything started work ther way I wanted. So thanks steve and Koz for your help. Thanks to you, I can continue to work with this fantastic program again, even on Windows 7. Once again, thanks a lot for help and support!

When a song fades out at the end, oftentimes the waves stop but the sound goes on even though all you see is a thin line that looks like silence, so there's no clear indication of where the music actually ends. I have to zoom in and find where it stops, then leave a couple of seconds of silence and...

Unless you are telling us that you can record from Soundflower in GarageBand but not in Audacity then it isn't an Audacity issue. ...

... so what this all boils down to is that multi-channel recording from the MOTU in Audacity depends on the sound card drivers. Go to the Audacity Help menu and select "Audio Device Info", and copy paste that info into your reply. Hopefully that will give some indication of how to record ...
