I honestly don't know what you're telling me to do. I loaded the file you sent and the first time it crashed audacity and the second time it was just an empty recording. No sound at all.

When the line number of the error is very high it usually means the last line but one of the AUTOSAVE file is corrupted - it's just NULL's (empty spaces) and a duplicate </project> tag. The fix is to delete that entire line then you should have the correct syntax at the end - the last line but one i...

"Error: Not well-formed" - Can't recover help!
I was recording the other day when a power surge in my area cause my computer to shut off. Now when I try to recover the audio it says 'Error: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 3661"
Idk what that means or how to fix this. Help?

Now we're in the weeds of how Unix handles sound connections and need to wait for a Unix person. As a first pass, Audacity > Preferences > Devices > Recording. Is there a USB audio device listed there? Is it selected?

That's the first time you introduced the USB connection. We're not immediate experts on all audio equipment.have it connected to a usb lexicon alpha( same device)

Hi, what I have done previously with the same laptop is have it connected to a usb lexicon alpha( same device) and why I am doing is trying to record my mixes . are you saying the only way to feed a signal in would be through the mic ? I'm sure I didn't do this previously and was able to record and ...
