Hello Koz! Thank you for getting back to me. I'm using Windows 8. I already have the software installed to convert files to MP3's I just don't know how to change the bit rate to meet the client's specifications. The files are all 128 Kbps

You only get to set bitrate in one of the compressed formats such as MP3. The uncompressed formats such as WAV are fixed. File > Export > MP3: Options... Audacity doesn't naturally export MP3. I have tried to figure out how to set the bit rate and I cannot seem to find it. I need my audio to be 192 Kbps and I cannot seem to locate how to change this. I need to submit work to a client right away and I need to find out how to do this. Please help! Thank you in advance.

If the Mac is permanently hung, press and hold the power button for ten seconds. Count to ten and then start normally.

Did you follow the Audacity install instructions? Audacity will not work right unless you drag the program folder into Applications.

Any of the running Audacity programs? What do you have running?

Apple (upper left) > Force Quit.
Then restart your Mac.

Please see previous post. I received something which I already tried. Tried again and nothing. I CAN'T close any of the running Audacity programs. The little multicolored just keeps revolving. Need specific instructions if possible thanx

... directory to a networked drive. It's a terrible idea to record to a networked drive. It's too slow. Use a local or external hard drive. Look at Help > Show Log... . Are there errors there? What happens if you Edit > Undo back to where the recording completed? Are there holes in the recording? ...
