Samples, no forum for that here?

Where can I find samples that I can use in my songs? Not gonna buy them because I'm still trying to find out if I can do something I want with Audacity or if I need another kind of software altogether. I'd appreciate any help. :)

The G-Track has a volume control. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GTrackUSB/ One of the guitar people at work owns it and I borrowed it long enough to write the original Overdubbing piece. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/overdubbing/overdubbing-SamsonGTrack.html http://www.kozco.com/tech/audac...

Re: Help I lost a 2 hour recording!

Please post the AUTOSAVE file It says the uploaded file is empty when I try to attach it... And it won't give me an option to recover the project! You said before that Audacity tried to recover the project, but the track was empty. So there must be content in the AUTOSAVE file, unless you closed th...

I suppose that's about as close as it gets to what I'm hoping to do. And with a free program, I've got no complaints! Thanks for your help!

Re: Volume too low on USB mic - pre-amp help? Mic level vs l

If you are going to use a USB mic (probably the lowest cost option), get one that has a recording level ("gain") control on the microphone. Having a headphone socket on the mic is also useful, and almost essential if you want to do "overdub" recording. If you're buying over the I...

Re: Volume too low on USB mic - pre-amp help? Mic level vs l

The Rode and pre-amp would be nice but it's a little pricey considering how seldom I'll be using it. If this mic is going to be perpetually too quiet, what would you think of something like the Blue Yeti? I'll only be using this for video voice-overs and promo intros etc rather than singing. Or any ...

Where to select non-standard devices?

... in and headphones (posted that before). Recording's just impossible. Now I found something interesting: When checking the sound card settings (via help in audacity), I get a listing (on both computers, eventhough they have different onboard sound cards) which contain all available devices IN DUPLO. ...

Re: Noob trouble with playback speed.

Thanks very much, Steve.

I have been doing a sync at the beginning, but I hadn't thought about doing one at the end as well. I really appreciate the advice. That should help out a lot.
