I am using the software for the first time, and have the online help open. I am following the steps, but they don't work. So I'm wondering what the situation might be where the Edit>Remove Special dropdown is grayed out after I've done everything the instructions ...

... think 2.0.6 changes anything here, but you should upgrade anyway: Download Audacity for Mac . If it happens again, see if Tracks > Mix and Render helps (it makes one track) instead of Align End to End. I don't expect it will help very much. Gale
