The clip fix effect needs improvement. This rewrite got rid of an unused variable and an assignment in an inner loop that had no effect, and combines some repeated code into a function, and rewrites some of that for more clarity. They were all muted! That was the problem. I am an Audacity noob, but this simple issue caused me a lot of frustration! Hope this thread can help other confused people like me! SOLVED!!!

... that we cannot see your computer. Are you actually using the same mic as Kiko on Windows 7? The more detail you give, the more likely we can help, and vice-versa. Your sample sounds like typical USB noise. You are recording at too low a level. Turn up the input level in Audacity. Get close ...

... to hear the music track, try doing without the append record to the end of a track. Just hit Record to record into a new track. If that does not help, try using another USB port for the HP headset. Plug in to an empty USB port, not to a USB hub. Gale
