... due to differences in the recording environment, distance from the microphone, mood of the artist.... Without the same artist, technology cannot help much, unless perhaps you have other recorded material from that artist that you can cut and paste, otherwise you will be looking for an impressionist.

Try this "reverso" effect. It takes short sections of the sound and reverses them. If reversing chunks, (i.e. playing backwards), modifies the speech too much , try chopping between the original and a time-shift ed duplicate ... Dubya, before-after Unwinisation.wav done using Robert J.H's...

... and above 5000Hz, and experiment from there. The problem is, the noise frequencies will overlap the voice frequencies so this filtering may not help that much.

... is now closed and you open it again, does the waveform look as it did when you saved the project after recovery? Are there any errors listed at Help > Show Log...? I began to import the data files from this project into audacity, after reading the recovery faq...there is sound from these data ...
