Total beginner. I just downloaded the software, how do I produce and record using Audacity?

I really want to do mix on EDM songs. What do I require? And since I am with no experience, can someone help me explain more and I would be delighted if someone introduces me to the software.

... again, and got no clipping. The new track now has both tracks in it, peaks out at just below 0Db, and sounds fine. Thanks again so much for your help. You saved me, as I have several finished product ideas that require mixing two or more tracks. You and Audacity ROCK!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the help! I've actually done a bit more research since I posted this, and have narrowed down my options to the Audio-Technica AT2035 and the Blue Spark (both with the Blue Icicle and respective shock mounts and pop filters).

Do you want to scratch and do you need it portable? If neither, I wonder if you don't need any other hardware. You can produce multi-track just in Audacity. Koz
