Re: Got some very annoying peaks. Cant filter them, help!

You can get rid of them one at a time as long as they don't crack at the same time you are talking.

Drag-select the crack and silence it with Control-L (attach, before and after).

Re: Got some very annoying peaks. Cant filter them, help!

Your system does not like playing a game and recording your voice at the same time. The game may need to steal the computer briefly and that's when Audacity cracks. This is a common problem with people who want to record game commentary. That's very difficult to do without special software. Audacit...

Re: Got some very annoying peaks. Cant filter them, help!

No, if i just record silent, no, no annoying peaks. And if you record your voice, but with the game not running? Still no annoying peaks? Today i tested it. I was singing during work 10 minutes into my mic, talking...sneezing and stuff...but no, all high peaks where CLEAR sounds, not just a "C...

Re: Audio Help

Thanks for the information. I will just have to record it again and make sure the volume is lowered. I have no idea why it resets to 100 or changes for that matter since the program I use to record doesn't effect those settings.

Please make sure you have the latest Audacity (version 2.0.6) available here .

Re: Audio Help

... is Effects > Clip Fix. I don't remember if it came with my Audacity or I installed it. It should be in the lower bunch of tools. If it doesn't help, see horsemen, above. Koz

Audio Help

Hello, I use Audacity a little bit to edit audio, mainly noise, effects etc, but I can't figure out how to get rid of this. My mic reset to 100 instead of the usually 30 for recording and it is really loud. I can fix loud, but I can't fix the popping noise when it goes over the threshold. Is there a...
