You'll need to give a bit more information. Which version of Audacity are you using and which version of Windows? (see pink box above) What exactly are you wanting to do? Do you have a recording of the song and a recording with an intro that you want to add to the start of the song? We can't see wha...

So where are you playing the song you want to record - Windows Media Player? YouTube?

Have you tried turning the volume of the song down in the player?

The WASAPI recording level is fixed on the input side, so adjusting the Audacity input slider won't help.
