Re: Does Audacity MP3 codec is free for commercial use?
... country and for your intended purpose without paying a fee is a decision you must discuss with your lawyer. If you read http://mp3licensing.com/help/#5 it appears that a license is needed if you sell MP3 files but not if the associated gross annual revenue is less than $100,000. However, MP3 ...

Re: iTunes Import Problem
... when imported into Audacity, shows up as this piece of **** waveform, completely ruined. I don't understand it at all, and I just need some help fixing it. If it helps, I've tried uninstalling and re-installing both the latest versions of Audacity and the ffmpeg plug-in at least twice, even ...

Re: Help with recording to my laptop from a mixer
We don't know if Windows sees the mixer.
Did you restart Audacity after you plugged the mixer in?
If you're getting the music from a stand-alone player, that will get you around the latency and delay overdubbing issues, but you still need to be on headphones.

Re: Help with recording to my laptop from a mixer
If Windows sees the mixer, Audacity should see it too. Does the mixer show-up in Windows Control Panel? Does the mixer manufacturer supply drivers? The only choices offered in the drop-down menu in Audacity for recording devices are Line-in and Microphone, I'd try both of those. Sometimes the driver...

Re: Help with recording to my laptop from a mixer
My mixer is also connected to an amp. That's how I'm listening to myself sing along with the tracks. Stop doing that. You should never have a live microphone and show speakers running in the same room. Headphones only. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/wynonna2.jpg I'm plugged into my laptop's USB por...

Re: Help recording mic and computer sounds with Audacity 2.0
I found the sound test I did with those two computers and mixer. Note that even though I mucked up the music routing, Denise sounds like she's sitting right next to me, not 2500 miles away at the end of a Skype call. The faster the connections you have and the less work you make Skype do, the better...

Help with recording to my laptop from a mixer
I have an HP laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium, using Audacity 2.0.6 from the .exe installer (why that matters, I don't know). I'm plugged into my laptop's USB port from my mixer. The only choices offered in the drop-down menu in Audacity for recording devices are Line-in and Microphone, neither...

Another Piece:

The Morning Stream.
They make mistakes, but they make normal production mistakes (wait, I thought it was your turn to push the button), generally not "I can't get the computer to work" mistakes.
