A USB filter won't do anything if the bus is introducing the noise. It would be clean all the way to the USB port, then get introduced as soon as it hits the bus. Same thing with a USB audio interface--might be the best mic and audio interface in the world, but as soon as it hits the system, it's go...

Yes, I apologize for leaving out the middle digit. The version I tried were 2.0, 2.0.2, and 2.0.6. Yet nothing worked. Please help.

... from somewhere else it may not be genuine Audacity. The recommended version is the " Audacity 2.0.6 installer (.exe file, 22.9 MB, including help files) for Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8" at the top of that page.
