Then you are not recording through the citronic device, but from your internal mic.
Be sure to select the citronic device in Audacity's Device Toolbar .

recording 2 tracks at once
I have a Mackie onyx blackjack 2 channel interface with windows and audacity software. If I record the 2 channels at the same time, it puts them on the same track. How do I get them to record on separate tracks? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Gary

... Try the compressor or the hard limiter effect. Both of these tool will push everything toward the same-constant volume. The Leveler effect may help too. So my recording actually got better this time when my mic actually recorded both the game sound and my voice.
