Could you have a look in "Help > About Audacity". On the "Build Information" tab it should show which version of wxWidgets Audacity has been built with.

... Same result. Specifications I am using Windows 7 I installed Audacity 2.0.6 directly from audacity.sourceforge.net with the .exe installer. Any help would probably most beneficial. If any other information is required of me to help fix the problem, I will gladly lend my assistance.

Make sure you have Audacity from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . If Help > About Audacity... really says 2.06 (only one dot in the file name) then it isn't official Audacity. There is no fix yet, but the developers know it's an issue on longer projects ...
