There is no simple way to clear up a voice. Sometimes you can get Equalization > Telephone preset to help a little.

Hmmm okay. I ended up just changing the temp file location and it worked out! I changed it to the desktop and I can now record without having to first save the file. Thank you for all the help!

The "three section version of Audacity" is, for example: Audacity 1.2.6, or 1.3.4, or 2.0.1, or 2.0.6
If you look in "Help > About Audacity" you will see that the three part version number is clearly displayed.
