Compressor "Noise Floor" description for manual
Hello, I have a request: Would someone who can dissect the code for Audacity's default Compressor please help to craft a new description for the Audacity user's manual, regarding what exactly the "Noise Floor" feature does? *** Edit: Also, please create at least one ...

Re: Help with LF_Rolloff_for_speech
Blood sugar is too high. Isn't that sweet? Actually, you didn't send a sound file. The AUP file is the Audacity instructions what to do with all that stuff inside the _DATA folder. That's where all the sound is. The AUP is a text file. Once you fail, you get to decide what to do to fix it. The first...

Re: Audacity keeps dynamically adjusting volume for mulitple
... didn't seem to bother much with support. I didn't follow up myself, so I don't know what went wrong there and then. Anyways if you need some help setting up the Elgato HD60 let me know, other than problems with their capture problem I can't control I pretty much got the whole thing nailed ...

Btw this looks suspiciously like the chart from the doc's office after the annual, except that's blood sugar and cholesterol and total lipids! lol

Re: Help with LF_Rolloff_for_speech
Koz! I got the file and ran the analysis. I analyzed two files and flunked them both. I am attaching the screen shots. I don't know if you want me to upload <15 seconds of audio, too, since you said to do that if it passed, and it didn't. But I will anyway in the off chance.
It flunked, Koz!

Re: Help with Windows 8, Roland TD-10
Also, I can see this on the horizon. Audacity doesn't save sound files. You have to Export to get a real sound file. Audacity does save Projects. The AUP file is a Project Manager. It tells Audacity what to do with all that stuff in the _DATA folder which is where the show actually is. You can send ...

Re: Help with Windows 8, Roland TD-10
Totally. I use a Behringer UCA-202 between my stereo sound mixer and my machine. I own two. Both work very well. In my particular case, I have my keyboard headphone output jacked into my sound system. The keyboard has no formal line-out. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo-650....

Re: Help with Windows 8, Roland TD-10
Thanks Steve!
I can run out through the 1\4 inch jacks into a converter to usb. Can I record drum tracks and send them to my friend in another state so he can open them and add bass and guitar tracks and send them back to me? That is the ultimate goal.
Thanks again,
JWY

Re: Help with LF_Rolloff_for_speech
I made a zip package out of the file (attached). I'm guessing Windows will volunteer to unzip it and present you with the contents which will turn out to be acx-check.ny. Windows may not show you the .ny.

Re: Help with LF_Rolloff_for_speech
Regarding the WCAG 'test,' that's a result on the Analyze/Contrast screen, which collects sound data and then gives some numbers about background noise compared to foreground, so one might think it's a sound test. I think I got that one. That's using Analyze > Contrast in its purist form all the wa...
