Another little tip: very old recording are mono. Because of business, I changed the hard drives and reinstalled the Windows and everything works fine so the problem is gone. I appreciate your help

If you are trying to find the frequency of tinnitus notes you hear, you'll need a signal-generator which you can adjust in real-time , unfortunately Audacity doesn't do that , but tone-generators are available online ...

I just downloaded 2.1 We don't make that. Look at Help > About Audacity... . It should say 2.1.0 (all three numbers) or 2.1.1-alpha if you are risking running an alpha version. If it says only "2.1", uninstall that and get 2.1.0 from us ...
